Dental360 and the Dental360 Index · Last updated 10 October 2026
What we are
Dental360 (“we”) is a directory of dental practices. The Dental360 Index ranks practices using public, business-level information so patients can compare them and practices can see how to improve.
What we collect
- Public business information about dental practices: name, address, phone, website, specialties, hours, and licensed-provider records from the U.S. National Plan and Provider Enumeration System (NPPES).
- Public website data: pages on a practice's own website, read in line with its robots.txt, for technical and content checks, social profile links, insurance accepted, services, dentists named and the contact email the practice publishes. Sites that ask not to have addresses collected are skipped.
- State license records published by state dental boards as open data, and practice locations from OpenStreetMap.
- Public platform metrics through official APIs: Google Business Profile rating and review counts (Google Places API), YouTube channel statistics (YouTube Data API), and public Instagram business-account metrics such as follower and post counts (Meta Business Discovery API). We do not collect data about individual Instagram or Facebook users.
- Account data for practice owners and staff who sign in to the Dental360 dashboard: name, email and a hashed password.
We do not collect patient health information and do not scrape platforms that prohibit it.
How we use it
To publish directory listings and rankings, explain each ranking, generate improvement tips for practices, and operate the practice dashboard. We do not sell personal data or use it for advertising.
Retention
Google Places content is refreshed and cached for no more than 30 days. Platform metrics are kept only as long as needed to compute current and historical scores. Account data is kept while an account is active and deleted on request.
Your choices
- Practice owners can claim, correct or remove their listing, or opt out of the index, by contacting us. Opt-outs are permanent.
- Facebook / Instagram users: if you connected your account to the Dental360 Index app, you can remove it in your Facebook settings under Apps and Websites, or follow our data deletion instructions.
Security
Credentials are stored encrypted or hashed, access is logged, and third-party API keys are restricted to the services and servers that need them.
